A really long time

Visiting with a good friend she reminded me how much she liked and misses the blog.... So I'm going to try hard to get back at it....I won an ipad2 and hopefully I will actually get to use it...to update my blog.

In a nutshell and in no particular order

1. the kids are both playing hockey again.. Ty is a midget and Janae is playing overage - havin a blast
2. One of the best times I have had in the last 6months was to go with great friends to see Trooper- it made me feel you again and I acted like a kid....thanks to the over consumption of alcohol (hopefully I will get some pictures on)
3. Ty is still woking -spent the summer working At the golf course ZAnd continues tom work at the grocery store - and yes has more $$$$ than his parents
4. Janae is busy babysitting - tis the season for Christmas parties
5. It's been a year since Opa passed away we were able to go to the cemetery to see his headstone -it is beautiful

Ty gets a job....

Well Well.... Ty gets a job at Viking Foods..... ma and pa were quite excited, he started on Saturday... and it looks as if he had a good day...

The rest of us have been busy... Janae was in Vermilion last weekend at a dance competition.... where she got 2 silvers!!!! i love her "Wizzard of OZ" production..... so much fun...

Easter is coming... and for the first time ever we are staying.. in Viking.... Willy is on :"Call" so he can't leave town...but am glad to say!!! the big ol sister is on her way.... and will be spending a few days with us.... (Kirsten... is busy and won't be able to come)..

Oh I know... it's been spent in the hockey rink, gymnasium, and dance hall... This past weekend we headed to Vermilion for Janae's hockey tournament... they had a pretty good game against Vermilion, but unfortunately they still have not won a game.... my rule with the girls.. is whoever scores a goal.. gets a chocolate bar... well.. needless to say.. I haven't spend more than $10.00 yet...

WE also hit a deer on the way to Vermilion on Sunday.. at 7:00am... this was a first for me.. it happened so fast that I didn't have a chance to get excited....

Tyrell.. had a BBall tourney in Ryley on Saturday... good games he won 45-44 on the 1st game lost 46-43 on the second and 44-21 on the last game - placing 3rd... Sunday Tyrell was back in Killam to play hockey..

Ty got his braces off December 16th.... and Janae got her's on less than one month later... yes I am broke... and tired of running... but.. after seeing Ty's teeth it was worth it... (pictures to follow)

Ty's been "warning" Janae about all the pain... and Janae has been requesting some "soft" food for lunch tomorrow...

I went to kiss Janae tonight.... and it hurt... so we'll see how the morning goes!!!

Hard to believe day 3 of the New Year~~~

The kids were off to school and dad and I were home alone!!!"""" but don't worry... we kept busy... cleaning that is... got most of the Christmas stuff put away... this is the earliest I've ever done that!!! I think next year I will take a vacation day the day the kids go back to school... it feels so good....

New years was awesome!!!! - Mom got a little full... but I think that's why I had so much fun.... I can not stop thinking how lucky we are.. with the great friends we have!!!! LOVE THEM ALL

Got in to Auntie Elsie's for her New Years Day open house... and as usual.. the food and wine was awesome!!! (I was busy "carbing up" so I could start my "carb down" day today... )

Went over to see Oma... and spend some quiet time with her.... she got a wii for Christmas... and we had a ton of fun playing jeopardy... and bowling...........

Now.. on with my resolutions...

1. Be good to "me" - that sounds better than.... .. and exercising!!!

no really - I started "conquer the fat loss today" - did pretty good.... and if I make it 2 more hours.. it will be the longest that I have ever stayed on a diet!!! LOL

2. update my blog more often - keep all you followers off my back

We have been having a fabulous Christmas Season.... On Christmas eve we headed to Grandma and Grampa's...with the truck loaded to the max!!! For the most part... everything made it safely... gifts still in tact...and the kids... excited as ever...

Lucky for us Janae... still has sooo much excitement... she still loves to shake, pinch and guess what her gifts are.... unfortunately for her... I usually only get the gifts wrapped a few days before... and this year... I wrapped them and packed them away....

After a fun filled few days.. at Grandma's we headed back home... and never took a break since...

On Monday... (the 27th) we went to see the new Harry Potter Movie!!! (awesome)

On Tuesday (the 28th) we went skiing at Alliance Ski Hill... (the kids are getting better at snowboarding every time!!!)

On Wednesday (the 29th) - mom worked, Ty went to basketball camp... and Janae hung out..

On Thursday (the 30th) - we went skiing again... at Alliance Ski Hill - kids took lessons!!! and - good bye skies

Tomorrow - (the 31stNew Year's Eve) I am back to Sherwood Park for Ty's BBall camp.. then... home to host a New Years Party......

The day after - (New Years Day) off to Oma's to visit and eat ollie bolin.,... (Dutch pancake - traditionally served on New Years Eve) - you know.. deep fried dough.. dusted with powdered sugar!!! everyone loves them!!!

Oh... but it's been a while... so here is a quick update...

After a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer - my father in law passed away very peacefully at his home in St. Albert on October 30th.... fortunately for Willy he was with him for his last breath.... he will and has been missed dearly... we think of him a lot.. especially with it being Christmas....

Oma and the rest of the family are doing good... the Rollie's are a very close family.. and there continues to be a lot of support.....

.... Last Friday... Janae had her 1st dance...can you believe it... she, however, stayed overnight at a friends so by the time she made it home.. she was not so excited which meant she was less talkative....and closed lip... but I got it out of her that she did dance... with a boy... and it was even a slow dance... but that's all she's disclosed.

....This Friday...Janae lased up the hockey skates for the first time in 5 years (she played one year of initiation hockey when she was in Kindergarten) ...so far she seems to like it...she is still blister free but doesn't know how stop that well....

--- Today Tyrell made it to Sherwood Park Archery Lanes.... where he got to shoot his new bow... had a great time... with a buddy... but the guy said his shooting pattern was a bit "scary" - what the heck does he think... I told him it was his first time sheesh!!!

Now.... I need to get the picks...loaded!!!!

All the excitement.... Janae is in bed.... getting lots sleep before the big dance!!! Ty's not so excited... doesn't want to go with crutches!! hopefully he changes his mind :(

The only year that I didn't ask......Janae decides that she is going to play hockey.... tonight was our first meeting... and of course... I voted to play in east central league... (closer to the Saskatchewan relatives....) but oh no!! were playing in the north central league... as far away as Innisfail.... good think I have family down there!!!! LOL

Work is busy... I barely have time to think.... but tonight I got out for a little stress break and did a 35 min run.... (Oh.. I need to lessen the load) .... but still managed to do 5/1 intervals!!!

Janae's first dance... on Friday... and it's like the good old days... when you could say.... If your not good "Santa won't come".... now we say... if your not good you "won't be going to the dance"!!!

(a learned behaviour taught by my MOTHER!!!)

5 weeks....

It's been 5 weeks since I have had an update.... Schools back in.. and were trying to get back into routine!!!

So here's a quick update....

Ty's on crutches!!!! he broke a bone in his foot the first week back to school...... playing flag football in phys ed... hit a gopher hole... and bent it over!!!! he does not have a cast... but has strict orders to have no weight bearing on his foot... as the bone may continue to break...and possibly break off!!! which would result in a bigger problem!!!

Janae decided to play hockey!!! (I'm excited for her) She came home from school and said..."me and Megan are playing hockey." so needless to say... the bank account is empty!!!!!

Opa is doing good.... his sister from Holland was here for 10 days... and was able to spend some time with her brother and the rest of us!!! She is such a neat lady...... lives in Amsterdam.... and works with ill patients ... just like Opa...

Ty - spent his hard earned money on a bow... and has been spending some time at the doc's practicing!!!

Janae - is continuing to do pedicures!! she's better than the pro's

Yes... it's true... no more foggy glasses, no more sweaty nose... no more finger printed glasses... On June 18th - I went to lasik in Edmonton!!!! and now... I see better than 20/20!!!

Opa...

Since we have been back from Slave Lake... Neil has been having trouble eating solids... thus the Dr. was able to get a "stent" (metal like straw) into the common bile duct allowing flow of bile. Apparently the pancreatic cancer was putting pressure on the common bile duct which caused a stricture...like a kink in a straw. That is why the bile was backed up, thus causing the jaundice. He received a iv dose of antibiotic before he came home, and he has a five day prescription of cipro to prevent infection.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that this procedure will make his last time here easier to endure

This night was amazing... the sunset was beautiful, the night was calm... and we had a fire on the beach!!

Bears and Beers!!!

We had a lot of beers and seen a lot of bears!!!

Wow.. we headed out to Slave Lake for a 2 week vacation with both friends and family.

So.. here is the story (and it’s long- so those of you that were hoping for a blog update – you’ll be happy) It all started Saturday with Willy golfing in the Viking Celebrity golf tournament while I was busy packing the trailer.... Willy was havin some fun…. so on Sunday the 11th - After watching Holland loose in the FIFA world cup final we headed out on our holiday with frowns on our faces and a few bumps on our head!!!

We spent Sunday night in St. Albert... this way we had a chance to buy our groceries, and spend an evening with Oma and Opa... (plus we were an 1 1/2 hour closer to our destination)
Arriving at Slave Lake @ noon on Monday we set up our camp..and seen bear #1 – we then helped 7 other families set up camp….and I also had beer #1 (but I won’t keep count for the beer… LOL) .... excited as ever... We spent the week fishing, boating, playing in the sand, drinking, eating, drinking and more eating... (weather was a bit windy – so we only got to spend about 1 ½ days on the water) – but we still had a lot of other entertainment………….

One afternoon Tyrell and Mikayla were strolling down the beach, they came back to tell us that they seen a bear (of course I didn't believe it) “no mom”... he said “down there, no really we seen a bear" - so I glanced in disbelieve and YES there was a bear #2 on the beach - the best part of the story is that when Tyrell and Mikayla spotted the bear about 20 yards away in the tree - Tyrell knew enough to say "back away slowly Mikayla" - so...they backed up slowly so the bear wouldn’t get startled….in the mean time while Mikayla was “backing away slowly” Tyrell turned around and sprinted back towards the adults... leaving Mikayla well in the dust... (or at least far enough behind that she would be the one eaten) ….

Once us adults seen the bear!!! Some of us took pictures, some of us watched him go back into the bush into the direction of our campsite… and just ONE of us… took the initiate to make sure our kids were safe… and we thank her for that!!!!!! After all we thought Willy was going to keep us all safe from the bear when actually it was Janelle… making sure the children were OK….thanks Jay!!!

As we continued to party - one night Willy and Robin stayed up til 4am around the camp fire - no sooner did Willy crawl in bed did Joan come around banging her frying pans... and horns honking…(I was hoping it was the wakeup call for breakfast) - but she was woken by bear #3 dragging her cooler from under the trailer - the bear ran off through our campsites....
Later Roxanne seen bear # 4+5+6+7 (mom and 3 cubs) - on the way to the shower - she was lucky enough to get pictures!!!

So with lots of excitement the friends all pulled out on Sunday - and we headed to Peace River to visit and tour.... Willy of course drove us around - and showed us and Gary and Janeen all the "memorable" Peace River spots (his home, his drinking spots, his fishing spots!! etc) - we were also lucky to see a baseball game in Grimshaw where Keaton and Lane were playing in the Alberta Summer Games.

So... the the Rolevelds - roll in the Slave Lake for week #2 - not sure if the liver can handle another week... but it did.....

We had a fabulous trip... and glad to have Patsy (from Vancouver) and Thea & Christian (from Toronto) and Johann, Doreen, Sam and Rick (from Holland) come out...- along with us locals!!!! it was nice to see all the family together (a bit emotional as well) - Opa is doing good - everyone was able to enjoy a great visit and a few games of crib and cards. Oma and Opa spent 3 days with us...Oma… of course enjoyed every minute….. I have noticed that Opa is getting thinner and more frail as the days go on!! - fortunately he is in NO pain...

The weather was a bit better the second week... the water was calm and we were able to spend every day on the water - catching a ton of fish!!! (Opa’s favorite)

I squeezed in one golf game (with by Brother-in-Law, nephew and Tanta) I got 2 pars, and one birdie!!! Sorry to brag… it just doesn’t happen very often…..yea ha... on the way we seen bear #8+9 (mom and 1 cub)

Willy again had to perform... he says he was teaching his nephews (and stayed up at the fire til 5am – then went fishing until 8:30am - as I was getting up he was going to bed!!!! (the nephews may have been impressed but I wasn't)

Soo... the week was over - and we had to take the boat out of the water!!!! and last but not least we seen bear #10+11&12 (all of these bear sightings were within 4klm of our campsite - we have been going to Slave Lake now for 12 years - and everyone else has seen a bear in the past but for me!!! but I think my 12 sightings ... made up for all those years!!!!!)))

This weekend we have the dutch family coming out for supper - and we go back to Sherwood Park on Sunday for a "Farwell" BBQ - for them as well....

Other than that I think we will be spending as much time with Opa as possible… The kids have plans to go to Saskatchewan…. To see the family back there…. And I would like to get to Cougarmama’s before the summer’s end!!!

Janae headed to Ranch camp for a week following the May long weekend... and since then things have been busy... I keep saying ball and soccer are busier than hockey... you seem to go all week... then you camp/yard work all weekend!!! at least in the winter you don't do the yard work...

3 weeks since I had a computer... and now I'm overwhelmed... don't know where to start.. and don't know if I should just shut off the computer and go to bed!!!

Well it's true, I've officially joined the 40s club!!! (hope it's true.. that life only gets better)..after coming home from the weekend and spending mothers day with my mom and family (all my nephew's and nieces yeee haa) ... I woke up to pink flamingo's on my front lawn.. .and then...went to work.. to find various "over the hill" trash in my office... who'd d' thought that I would one day be 40... I had birthday cake at the office.. Janae made me a birthday cake and my girlfriend made me another one... good thing I haven't joined weight watchers yet...

for my birthday... I had a great trip to Phoenix.. and will fill you in ASAP... baby steps

Wow... Billy Talent... that's all I should say.. but... I have never seen Ty.. this excited... it was a BLAST!!!! Thank goodness... I was in the Media room... as I probably would have lost my hearing!!!

Wow.. the things we learn at a Billy Talent contest........

1. I was the only one without a tatooo....
2. I was the only one without a piecing... (not including my ears)
3. I was the only one not in BLACK
4. I was the only one sober other than the kids I brought)
5. I was the only one their with baggy cloths (or should I say cloths that fit...)
6. I also learned that all my ripped tights.. could come in handy... when I wear my next mini-skirt... that does not cover my BUTT CHEAKS!!!

Ohh.. the memories...

P.S. Picked up the driver training book... so watch for the posting.. when Ty becomes.. legal to drive!!!!

Willy went in to the hospital on Sunday!!! With phnemonia….he’s doing good… a bit of a pain in the ass….cause he’s taking the “whole sick thing” a little too far…. (bring me an apple… bring me the paper… bring me a book… bring me an orange) … I keep telling him… if he was in Edmonton… he’d have been discharged by now!!! Plus… he can watch the Olympics 24/7 – with no interruptions!!! So he needs to stop bossing his wife LOL!!!!

He had another chest x-ray today… and they are going to keep him for 1 more day!!! - chest is still showing a little infection!!!

Will keep you posted!!! As I know more!!!

P.S. I do feel sorry for him… cause he was looking so forward to going to Pheonix with your mom and dad!!!

Saturday!! Off to Holden - T had to ref... rushed back to run the Dance Workshop!!!!

Sunday!!! with great family and friends...we spend the day celebrating Oma and Opa's 53rd wedding anniversary..... today.. .Opa and Elsie celebrate their birthdays!!!

Monday!!! - spent the day with Dad - in the hospital!!! he has pneumonia!! not good considering he leaves for Phoenix on Wednesday!!! - what to do...

Suprisingly... my husband has asked me to go for supper with him for Valentines's day!!! but...if you know Willy.. we also have a hockey game in Camrose... so it's like killing two birds with one stone!!! the game starts at 6:00pm..and we gotta eat!!!....all the mushy stuff aside... he's a good guy.. and glad he's part of my life!!! ..

Running............ about 5 weeks ago I started back running!!!! New Year's Resolution...and well I'm still at it...started with running for 4 min..walk for 2 min... (seven sets) each week I incresased the run by a minute etc.... and today.. the windiest day in history.. I ran 8min/2walk - 5 sets (8Klm) proud of myself!!! but VERY tired..

Crazy sister is in Mexico!!! is it windy down there?? hope SO!!! jk - hope their having fun....farmer brother - off Skiing!! good luck... and hope they enjoy it!!! casue next year they won't be able to keep up!!!

Thanks.. to Ty.. I got an extra long weekend... T-was home sick.... and he wasn't able to play his first provincial game - thought the diarrhea and layers of hockey equipment didn't mix... they however lost their game by one.. so he's resting up for round 2 - on the 19th of February...

Off to Camrose for a league on Sunday... then to Sylvan Lake on Monday!!!!

Valentine's day...

J - is amazing she was in charge of planning the grade 6 Valentine party... and she did an great job... she loves to organize things... and there was even veggies and fruit!!! at the party.....

No update on Opa Yet... Looking forward to his 81st birthday next Sunday... sounds like all the family will be home... it will be a special time,, but emotional!!! will keep you updated..

Found out this week that my father-in-law was diagnosed with pancreas cancer... we've been told he is in good spirits!! and he acknowledges how fortunate he has been to date!!! I don't ever remember Neil being sick... (he stated that he has only been on antibiotic's once in his life) so just asking for a few prayers... as we will be going through a very difficult time... learning the treatment options and all the rest that goes with this...

Attended my 1st 40th birthday at Vance's - had a FABULOUS time.... great food... good drinks.. and met a lot of cool people..... I actually ventured out to the "bar" just after 11:00pm....

We went to a no-straigt bar..."play"... and it proved to be interersting.... men serving drinks in tighty-whity's...cages...etc.... and the rest can not be published on my blog... so you will have to get the details from me... in person!!!

One thing I learned... is that on my 40th.... I will not drink as my as poor Vance.....being coheirent is a good thing!!!

Well.. when you only post occassionally... you gotta do it the quickest, easiest, and most effect way... so here it is in a nutshell...

We had a fabulous Christmas... it's hard to beleive that the kids are 11 and 13... and well Christmas is changing...the kids are beleiving less and less in the big red guy.. and beleiving more and more in the birth of Jesus.... .. (which is a good thing,,, just a little more serious)

The kids got spoiled... (and so did I) J-girl is going to be a famous rock star with her new keyboard.. and T-man is going to be a professional skier with all his new ski equipment.

Dad got a lab top... (that's what I'm using to update the blog)

New Years was a blast!!! but I'm glad that it's finally arrived... I didn't think it was possible,,, but yes I am sick of "cream cheese"...

The resolution has begun... did my first 5km run, first one in about a year... almost killed me... but this is my 40th year.. and I am going to be in the best shape of my life... and down about 20lbs (the refridgerator lock has been ordered!!)

We put on a lot of miles this Christmas... leaving Christmas day... to St. Albert... off to Edmonton for boxing day.. then off to K town.. for more turkey on the 27th... then off to Kindersly for more "cream cheese"... then Dad and T-guy headed to Saskatoon to watch a IIHF game... arriving after midnight... to rest up and head back to Edmonton for a beautiful wedding at the Hotel McDonald on the 2nd of January... so when my girl said that all she wants for Christmas next year is to stay at home... I may have to honour her wishes....

One of the greatest blessings.. is that we were able to see ALL our families(with the exception of a nephew and brother in law, who weren't able to make it)
Both set's of grandparents.. are well and happy and enjoy seeing the kids... at Christmas!!

May 2010...be even better than 2009!! God Bless all our friends and family

Wednesday we got back from Arizona!!! love our new home!!!! it is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l... had a fabulous time... with some fabulous friends!!! and let me tell you they are fabulous friends!!!! - their motto "you can't drink all day if you don't start at 9:00am".... I must agree..

We caught a shuttle from our home in Maricopa... it dropped Me, J and a few other girls off at Arizona Mills Shopping centre... then dropped Dad, T and some other boys off at the NFL game, then... it dropped of a couple more at the nascar races... then it picked up the boys at the NFL game, us at the shopping centre, then we all headed out the NBA game (the highlight of our trip)... even if your not an NBA fan!! its a MUST SEE!!!

Well... it was my last halloween parade at the school... next year...I will have both in junior high..boo..boo...

The kids are busy tricker treating... while I am sitting here waiting for the doorbell to ring... hope all the candy goes.. or I'm dumping it....:( not sure what has happend but my will power is gone!!!!

T-Man... Gr. 8.. and it's a mask and a pillow case!!! (and his last year)
J-Girl - Gr. 6.. dressed as Tinkerbell... and can't get enough candy... (I'll be throwing it out faster than she can eat it!!!)

My rule though.... if I find a wrapper... you have to give me a candy... and I get to pick it....:)

T-Man has a Gr. 8 party tonight... and yes... I gave him the "speach"...w/ his reply being.. cum on mom... your embarassing me:( (too bad - my mom had those talks with me... and you can't have too many... so get used to them) ..

No.. just beer and wine... jk... we had a great weekend.. flew into Abbotsford.. on on Friday... where the sister-in-law picked us up and took us across to the border...with a few shopping stops on the way...arrived in Seattle at her husband's in time for a great supper.. and a fun filled weekend...

The boys.. experienced a true "NFL" experience...arriving at the game 3 hours in advance to "tail-gate" with the brother-in-law a "true Seahawk's fan"...

While the boys were at the game...auntie Patsy... gave J the shopping experience of a life time, she did pretty good... considering how much time we spent in "Macy's"... but w/ shirts @ $3.00.. she was loving her new wardrobe...

We had coffee at the 1st "Starbucks"... went to Pike Place Market and ate seafood at the coast...

Love it.. !!!

Hockey has started.... love it... Dad is in charge of the ref'ing... so he's busier that Ty-man...
J - starts dance tomorrow... She's ready and pumped.. (however - has no dance shoes)

Dad and I finished our Orientation for Caregivers Training... now we need paperwork and a home study and were ready...

Now... we are getting ready to leave for Seattle on Friday...

We gave had a busy week... w/ the kids being gone we only got in one round of golf.... and if you know us... that's not like us.....(we were too busy packing our new trailer... "new to us" trailer)... and well... we did a few other things.. but they can't be published... cause some day.. my kids will read my blog... and "gross" is what I will say..... hahahaha..

T is having a great time at BBall camp.. at the UofA...he said he ran lots.. and met a lot of new kids..learnt some new skills... but he wasn't too tired to pass up seeing the Transformers movie..

J is visiting Auntie E's this week.... having a great time.. they love to spoil her... Auntie lives a block from an outdoor pool... however, if the weather is not 18+ they will not open the pool... and just our luck... it' only been open one day.. but.. she's also seen Ice Age 3D... which was good...Lukster..has taken her to DQ and they have been out visiting friends...

My niece.. turned sweet 16... can you beleive it...she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen... hope she get's her licence soon... maybe a trip to V is in the plans...let's just hope...

J and I went the the Jonas Bro's concert on the 30th... boy was that fun... imagine 17000 screaming girls...(glad I was in the parent room)... but it was J's first concert.. and she loved every minute of it...

No more lunches.. no more alarm clocks... school has finally finished and I am proud to say I now have a grade 8r and 6r... I also have 5 days off with not a lot of plans... so.... maybe off to the city tomorrow.. maybe sleeping in.. whatever it is it's gonna be good.

Well after numerous complaints... I thought I better get something posted...

It's obvious.. that I have neglected my obligation to keep the family informed.. so here it goes..

Dad..is gone... up to Fort Vermilion to assist with his parents in preparing for their auction sale... Dad... I think is sad.. after may years... this is one chapter he has to partially close... Our trips to the north will not end, but our sleeps in the "shack" likely will... Oma.. would always make us feel like we were on our honeymoon.. cause she kept the kids in the house.. and Dad and I got to sleep in the "shack".. of course.. I was paranoid of the bears and mice.. so I would always have to wait til the weeee hours of the morning (til Dad was done playing cards) to go to bed and by then.. I was too tired... and when my head hit the pillow I was out.!!!! Sorry DAD!!! LOL

While DAD was away... we headed to Saskatchewan... and had some good laughs and chats... the "Thiessen" gang were not home.. they were out "branding" which is WAY more fun than seeing "auntie."

My nefews and niece... are growing... and growing.. soon my niece will drive..she's already hit the "boyfriend stage" (she drove my truck today.. and did a pretty good job)

... if you can believe it she's almost as cute as auntie was!!! HAHA

My nefew's are about a thin as one of my legs... (mustn't be much for food in Saskatcheewan????) one is taller than me... but that doesn't take much..

Today.. was the hottest day of 2009.. and well I'm red... but will be white come the morning (that's right.. it will not turn into a tan!!! you others that experience the same... know what I'm talking about..)

Mid May... I took over the Branch Manager position.. that has a few new/more challenges... but I think I'm going to enjoy the change... (Only now I have to watch my "P's & "Q's"... which most of you know is harder for me than the average)

Golfing..Golfing... Love it... wish I could do it everyday.. sometimes I try... but my mother duties interupt.. I think the hubby is getting nervous.... as my drives.. are getting longer and longer (this may be a direct result of my weight gain... when you use all your weight.. and your hips..the ball seems to fly)

One last thing...
Most of our friends have been praying for Cec... and I'm happy to say.. "to my beleif" our prayers have been getting answered, he doing well.. can not wait to see him... we need to continue to pray.. as there is a long road ahead..

Fairmont... has not changed in the past 25+ years... there were still good looking guys skiing with me (only this time... I knew them prior to the trip...)

I could not believe it.. the minute I skied the first slop... it all came back!!! like it was yesterday...

V - do you remember how we thought our instructors were so hot?? do you remember rippin up the slops thinking NO one could catch us??? taking every trail through the trees???

Big C - do you remember taking hours to do our hair!! and heaven forbid if we would have to wear a helmet and flatten our 80's hair... I think I may have even been in the sauna..that left a square inpirnt on your butttt... :(

Best vacation ever... "Fairmont BC.." where utterly you can Ski, Swim and Golf...AND we had a fabulous time.. I hadn't thought about that place for years... and when we arrived and skied our first run..it was like going back in time.. I remembered everything.... the hill that bro broke his thumb on, the names of the run "desperado, lasso, easy rider... and not one single thing in the chalet changed... I even had visions of Cindy Ternes... riding the barrel!!!! OMG... Dad and the kids were getting tired of me talking about "when I was young"....never was there more than 20 cars in the parking lot, 100 people on the hill... it may be a small hill... but when you mix beer.. and skiing..I don't think it's a good thing if the hill's too big... (you could get lost)

On Saturday... we skied....then we golfed 9 holes....my best 9 holes ever.. always golf the best the first round.. and it usually goes downhill from there..

Other than my son turning 13.. it hasn't been the greatest month. I learned that life is short.. and you should live it to the fullest each day.. I particularly loved how the pastor quoted at a recent funeral...Are you ready for lift off??? is today the day... you will board the plain... and soar to the sky???

We are headed to Fairmont.... tomorrow April 1st... and... I am very excited. Will keep you posted.. and maybe follow with some new pictures!!!

A Lot has been happening...

K... this is what's been up with the Rollies...

1. Last Saturday we were able to celebrate W's dad's 80th... birthday party... pictues will follow... and it was an awesome time...
2. We also celebrated W's sister's 50th bday... (I think were getting old)
3. Unfortunatley my Auntie B passed away.. and the funeral brought the family together to celebrate her life... (unfortuante but.. a great way to celebrate her life)
4. T went to regionals via BBall.. and got 4th
5. I had a Silpada jewelery party - partied til 5:00am...guess I'm not that old.
6. J' has her first dance competition in St. Michaels on the 8th... got the sewing machine out.. and altering costumes..
7. T leaves for Jasper on Thursday.. for a ski trip with the youth group
8. As a banker - today is the last day to buy RRSP's and if I didn't party til 5:00pm on Sat.. I would party again..

Spent the night in SP.. with my girl friends.. had a blast... laughed... almost cried... and got a little light headed..

You learn so much from spending a few hours with your friends and a couple bottles of wine... One minute you learn that your marriage sucks.. and that you should start searching the yellow pages for a divorce lawyer.. the next minute.. your husband is the perfect man.. and everyone should be married to him.. . in the morning.. your just glad you have a husband that can stay home with the kids.. so you can enjoy a night out!!!

Dad made out good with the kids... T had a boy/girl party Friday night.. sounded like it was fun.. accompanied by some drama... J.. stayed home and watched a movie with Dad..

Dad was planning to take me to one of three places for supper... 1 Camrose 2 Wainwright 3 Vegreville... and well I picked none of the above... I would like to go to Benny's in town.. then have the right to claim the couch.. with a good movie... (lacking patients) after a night out...

Well.. it was busy.. and you'll all be happy to know.. that I can cross the Lougheed bar..off my list. T - was at a BBall tourney @ Lougheed.. they did very well.. winning the whole tourney... quite an experience for a 1st time BBall player... But.. what's the mom's to do in a small town all day?? sit in a stinky gym?? I think NOT!!! (I wonder if my mom did that in the Dodslands, Plenty's and Wilkie's, etc??? - cause there ain't much to do in those towns either!!)

Dad.. had his buddies over for the "Fight" - apparently it was good.. and lucky for J - dad's friends... have girls that are also able to come... I hung with them... cause "Click" is more appropriate and much more enjoyable.. no blood...

Mom and Dad.. are off to the Oilers game... a date... alone time... what shall we talk about??? (will let you know)
